Subject: Sizing, Positioning, and Optimizing Oracle Applications on
Digital's Alpha AXP Platforms
ASEPG is pleased to announce the on-line availability of a report which
describes the performance of Oracle Applications on both OpenVMS for Alpha
AXP and DEC OSF/1 for Alpha AXP. This report is an update of a previous
report which highlighted performance of Oracle Applications on OpenVMS for
VAX and ULTRIX/RISC.
Highlights of this report include the following:
o System positioning of Oracle Financials on both OpenVMS AXP V1.5 and
DEC OSF/1 V1.3A.
o Evaluation of Oracle Financials in a parallel server environment on
OpenVMS AXP.
o The performance characteristics of Oracle Financials in a client/server
environment on both OpenVMS AXP and DEC OSF/1.
o Disk and memory sizing for both OpenVMS AXP and DEC OSF/1.
o Operating system, database, and application tuning recommendations.
