185.0. "What do these SEG codes mean?" by PTOVAX::PEARLMAN () Tue Feb 16 1993 13:47

Might anyone be able to help interpret these codes (business
segments) from a CIC or USCIC (Country Information Center)
report. I can guess what some of they are, but would like
to see some explanation or legend.

	APSS
	BPS
	CL
	CON
	CSS
	D/D
	DAS
	DCSS
	DNS
	DT
	FMS
	HPS
	INDEC
	IPT
	MVS
	NW VNTRS
	OFF
	OTHER EU
	SPG
	SPS
	TPP
	TRNG
	VOL

Also I would like to map these catagories back to another report
that breaks the product mix by such groupings as

	S/t Group MID RANGE VAX
	S/t Group LOW END VAX
	S/t Group VAXSTATIONS
	S/t Group RISCSTATIONS
	S/t Group PC's
	S/t Group No CPU
	.
	.
	.

The above report goes on and breaks these groups with the
specific products such as for the first the MID RANGE VAX it
	lists 6000 class machines.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks for the start. It is the local people that are asking. The one
that seems to keep cropping up is IPT.

Might anyone have any pointers to someone at the corporate level that
    might help.

You might try someone in Bob Nealon's office.

I may be rusty on some of these (I worked in Operations last year), but to check
or get the ones I can't I would suggest June Coolidge in MRO.

Thanks for all the replies. I even found a table somewhere that had
most of them. What we still can find is IPT. On the table for IPT it
says IPT. We even have what appears to be certs for IPT.

    I'll try calling the pointers.
185.9IPT = TPLPTOVAX::PEARLMANMon Feb 22 1993 09:243
Per June Coolidge, IPT is what was formerly called TPL, the Traditional
Product Line. These were the folks that refurbished the equipment
    and then resold it.
