We all know we have an expense problem but at the same time we want to try and create new revenues for the company. I am beginning to find locations where customers have registered for DECworld, in many cases senior managers, and we are telling our sales reps that they can't accompany them because of the cost to travel. Does this make sense?

Well, if I was the salesperson who convinced the "senior manager" to make the investment in attending DECWorld, I'd be angry, embarassed, and demotivated. If I was the customer I would be ripped. This isn't really happening, is it? | |||||

Unfortunately, it is happening. This is a specific case, I can't say if it is a wide spread practice. |
