73.3 | MSCP Contact and clarification | CLOSUS::MUNSON | | Tue Feb 04 1992 17:13 | 12 |
| You should be able to get information on the process to get the MSCP
specification (MSCP is not a "product," but rather the definition of
how one talks to mass storage devices) from Paul Feresten @SHR or
LEDS::FERESTEN, Mass Storage Marketing Manager. However, your
description of the customer's situation doesn't strike me as one where
the MSCP spec would apply. I.e.,
o MSCP isn't used to talk to SCSI devices; they have their own protocol
o MSCP is not the protocol used to talk to tape drives (TMSCP is)
If the customer spoke with people in Colorado, who were they and why
did they feel the MSCP spec would assist your customer?

| On a slightly unrelated topic, does anyone know where I can get the spec for
the LAST protocol used with our Infoservers and PC products?

| In regard to LAST, I would participate in the BLUMON::INFOSERVER
conference. They should be able to point you to the people who maintain
the LAST/LAD protocol suites.
