Why cant a corporation like Digital offer its employees a personal computer product at a fair price? * Employee Purchase Program Internal PC's @ 40% off are still 40% higher than Mail-order PC vendors ! Employee pricing is insulting to employees of DEC. In addition; Other computer companys have weekly pay deductions to pay for the home systems weekly rather than a lump sum up front. { what a nice program for the employees-Prime} Do we always have to make it difficult ? When the "Dell-model" ordering line opens (January?) and we reduce the Pc prices we offer our customers to "street pricing", will employees be allowed to purchase at 40% off the new "street pricing"? bl | |||||

I wouldn't count on it. I have been shopping for PC's the last 3 months and I have concluded that the Employee Purchase Program is the very last place to go if you are interested in purchasing a PC. Even at the EPP reduced rate, you will get a significantly better deal at almost every other PC store on earth. EPP is so far out of touch with what's going on out there that I can't even begin to express my dismay. I ended up purchasing a 486-33 machine with quality components for literally thousands of dollars less then the EPP price. Software through the EPP is no deal as well. Again, go to any store on earth and you will find a better price on the same product. My advice is to shop around carefully, know what you want, and feel confortable about leaving the EPP behind. Any questions? |
