	Hi all,

	I read in one of the previous note that FTSIE 2.0 requires DECnet/OSI
	V5.5 (and so VOTS 3.0), and that there is a special (but unsupported) 
	FTSIE 1.4* which runs with DNVEXT; due to the fact that the VOTS 3.0
 	is included in DNVEXT, I'd like to know:

	- is FTSIE 2.0 supported on DNVEXT ?

	If it isn't, 

	- why have I to use FTSI 1.4* over DNVEXT?

The official answer is no because DEC FTSIE V2.0 was basically tested using
DECnet/OSI V5.5. It should work however without any problems.

> - why have I to use FTSI 1.4* over DNVEXT?

As you may well realise a lot of customers are running an 'adapted' version
of VAX/FTSIE V1.4(E) on DNVEXT due to the 'earlier unavailability' of 
DEC FTSIE V2.0. This adaptation of VAX/FTSIE V1.4E was hopefully done
in return for $$s.

So the position of FTSIE is tightly linked to the status of the underlying
DECnet products.

I hope the underlying 'support matrix' answers all your questions.

						 should work - has to be tested	


VAX/FTSIE V1.4E* = adapted by local office/customer

Support for OpenVMS and OSF/1 for AXP are in discussion. If you have any 
requirements please contact the present Product Manager Michael Eisenhut @UFH.
The more people that ask for it the more likely that DEC FTSIE will 
appear on these platforms.
