	Hi Net...
	An important customer wants us to set up a DECnet link (only FAL
	under DECnet DOS) from our VMS-systems to a Siemens-PC.

	I never had any problems with Pathworks for DOS or the DE100
	(plug and play...) but the Siemens PC (EISA) consistently resisted.
	We tried different switch settings but it seems the DE100 couldn't
	be accessed from Pathworks. (no problems during Pathworks installation)

	There isn't any activity from the LED's on the DE100 or an
	attached DESTA (target will be a thickwire LAN) so I guess the
	problem lies with the DE100. (though it still works on my PC's...)

	Does anybody have an idea why the DE100 might not work in the
	Siemens PC?
	Does anybody know someone who has experience with Siemens-PC's?
	Does anybody know someone who could help me?

	Hi Net...
	DIR/TITLE=SIEMENS,PCD didn't help and I dont' know if I'm in the
	right conference, so bear with me...

	The Siemens-Nixdorf PCD-3M/25 is not in the list of supported
	base systems for Pathworks. Since it was supposed to have a standard
	AT-Bus, we tried anyway. (DOS 5.0) Pathworks V4.1 for DOS installation
	worked without a hitch, but a reboot told us that the datalink
	could not be initialized. It seems the DE100 we used doesn't even
	run it's own self-test.

	The same configuration works on a DECstation 210 without any problems.

	Does anybody know, why Siemens PC's aren't supported base systems?

	Does anybody have some experience with a setup like this?

	Any way of using Pathworks on the Siemens-PC?

	Anywhere else I can ask?

	I would appreciate any information, hints and pointers.

	Josef Borkovec might know, I seem to remember that a few years ago we tried to convince Siemens to use our Ethernet cards and pathworks for netting their PCs. The choose another card and we never did get it up and running with pathworks. Alternatively try Alfred Wiegel @NBO or somebody from DEC who is close to the Siemens development people or sells to them. Chris
