Hello : Can you clarify me some doubts? I don't know what happens with FT-SIE (VOTS) with VMS v5.5, but I've just installed the product with MEP-OSI in a VAX 6000 with VMS v5.5 and it works (without VAXextensions and without modifications in FT-SIE). The configuration is with a X.25router 2000 (communication via X.25 an a null modem). Anyway, the question is : - Should FT-SIE work with a DECNIS 500 and a null modem? - If yes, Should I need gateway license? Thanks and Regards. Elena.

Yes it works ... but it's not officaly supported ;-) not unless you and your customer have come to some other agreement. > - Should FT-SIE work with a DECNIS 500 and a null modem? > - If yes, Should I need gateway license? Yes it should work because FTSIE does not see anything of the underlying subnetwork. So you can have anything between the two End Systems. All that FTSIE needs is it's interface to VOTS. If a gateway Licence means being able to use CONS (Connection Orinted Network Service) then the answer is YES. Asta la Vista! John |
