Hallo
1. Conware EM97 or MEPOSI ...
The funktionality of MEPOSI is much better than that of EM97. Here are
some major differances:
i) MEPOSI supports the vt3xx terminals. This is important, if
your cutomer is using applications like SAP, that needs the 25th.
status line of the 9750 terminals.
ii) security features of MEPOSI: The security system in a BS2000 system uses
beside user / password also the terminal port. So you can assign a
specific user on a specific terminal to an application. With MEPOSI
this feature is supported (by ACLs on terminal-names). With EM97 this
is only possible when the termials are direct connected to the VAX
System.
iii) MEPOSI is completely integrated in the VMS environment: It is
installable by vmsinstal, the user interface is the same as a Digital
product. EM97 is a UNIX ported program an has a UNIX user interface and
a non-digital installationprocedure.
iv) Integrata and Digital are working together in some areas. The
reverse-emulator of the IBM 3270 will be sold by Digital and there are
some sales coorparations with Integrata in Germany. On the other side,
Conware has a competitive product to our FTSIE and to some network
products of us.
2. VT Emulation ...
... if you are looking for a VT Emulation on a Siemens BS200-Terminal
(9750), Integrata is developing the 9750 reverse emulator (sponsored by our
sales) and it will be available in the middle of 92.
