It has come to my notice that customers are having problems with their
FTSIE connections (LAN as well WAN) after Siemens upgardes to
DCAM V10.0. These problems seem to be Siemens home grown as we have
not been asked by any customers directly to investigate so we don't
have any protocol details to date. However if you know of any customers
who are planning to make an BS2000 DCAM upgrade in the near future
and are using VAX/FTSIE please warn them.
As soon as we get more info we'll post them here.
regards
John

Interoperability Problems (File Transfer or Terminal Emulation) have
been reported after customers have upgarded their BS2000 M/C's to
BS2000 V10.0A and DCAM V10.0A.
If one traces the behaviour one gets the following results:

Description
===========
Siemens receives our first DT-TPDU (FTSIE-SAC) and responds to it with
a DT-TPDU (FTSIE-SOP). As however we never receive a OSI Transport AK
we initiate checkpointing at the OSI Transport level. As we never
receive an AK we therefore disconnect the Transport Connection.
Siemens has recognised the problem and are providing a REP
(Siemens-speak for Fix kit). Anyone who gets to hear of this kind of
problem please inform their customer that they should ask their
Siemens/S.N.I. representative to provide a REP to Problem # (Fehler
Meldung A0108145).
