| Telnet would be a viable solution, but one should check if the desired
application can runder under Telnet.
A better solution is being developped by Integrata A.G., Tuebingen.
They specialise in VMS-mainframe (Siemens, IBM etc.) Communication and
have often been mentioned in this conference.
During the last Computer fair (IFABO) in Vienna, they demonstrated a
VTxxx emulation for IBM 3270 VDU's, which worked very impressive even
with applications like All-in-1.
I was informed that they have a similar project for Siemens. This
solution should be available 4th quarter CY 91. I also need this
functionality and therefore I contact them regularly. On our last
discussion I was told that they are on schedule and expect to have
first demo versions available in August or September.
If You need more or detailed information let me know.

1. If the Siemens Terminal is a 97801 (used at MX300 and MX500 Systems
running SINIX) than there is a product from Conware called EMVT that
has to be installed on the Siemens system. The communication between
the VAX and the Siemens System can be done over TCP/IP (telnet, part of
VMS/Ultriox Connection).
2. If the Siemens Terminal is a 9750 (used at the BS2000 Mainframe
Systems), than you have to wait until INTEGRATA has finished the so
called 9750 Reverse Emulation MEPRT97 (may be at the end of this year).
