As of my knowledge:
Siemens` VAN activities used to be handeld by VASCOM.
VASCOM had the charter to enter the VANs market. VASCOM is a
100% daughter of SIEMENS. Now that SIEMENS take over NIXDORF
it is likely that VASCOM will be integrated into the new
SIEMENS/NIXDORF company.

| I've just come back from CeBIT'90 and heard there from people working for
VASCOM that they would be integrated back into the new SNI Co formed by
the takeover of Nixdorf by Siemens.

| Here some more info from a former VASCOM-person, hope that helps.
EDI: Siemens works internally with about 30 companies on basis of EDI;
is has all been project based, but high growth expected, products
expected in 1991; modules available, architecture is being worked on.
E-mail X.400 internally used with AKOM (product)
externally BS2000-Mail (no big Marketing effort)
Voice Siemens is also a telefon company - remember? CIT runs and is marketed
at least in Germany (contact Udo Steinhoff RTO) - see also HICOM
activities; also very active in the US with ROLM (former IBM-daughter)

internal activities, external activities reduced on installed base.

Does Siemens sell any EDI software for use by end-users or value added
networks?

So BS2000-Mail is their X.400 mail system? can it be used in a value
added network?

Do they have any voice mail or interactive voice reponse products? Are
they interested in these areas and integrating them with switches?
