47.0. "connection siemens-ultrix" by LYOIS1::GAUDIEZ () Mon Jan 29 1990 14:01

    Please,

    Is it possible to connect VAX/ULTRIX with SIEMENS by ethernet network?

    If it is, can you give me the product lines DEC and SIEMENS or the
    partner's name if it is a third party's solution.

    Thanks

    SIEMENS is a BIG company containing many divisons making many products.

    Before giving you an answer can you be a bit more specific as far as
    the product that you want to connect to.

    regards
    John

47.2API SIEMENS and ULTRIXLYOIS1::GAUDIEZFri Feb 02 1990 19:094
    My question is about API products and the connection is with SINEC
    H1 protocol.
    Otherwise, is it possible to communicate with TCP/IP and are the
    services the same that with SINEC H1 services ?
47.3no TCP/IP on SINCE H1 !MUNICH::KLOEPPERVera Kloepper/Net&Comms-SupportMon Feb 05 1990 10:3414

    As I know - SINEC H1 isn't able to communicate via TCP/IP.

    You can see in 48.2 a very good explanation about what SINEC H1
    is doing and how to connect to VAX/VMS.

    VAX/Ultrix cannot connected directly to SINEC H1 - only via VMS.

    But perhaps s.o. else did know about some special "Unix - SinecH1"
    connections - try to ask/use the notesfile CESARE::VSH1 (VMS services
    for SINEC H1) to get more information.
