"Siemens Gets Job from Iraq" (WSJ, 01/10/90)
Siemens AG, a West German electrical and electronics concern, said it signed a
12-year licensing agreement with Iraq to build digital telecommunications
systems there. The first three-year phase of the pact involves deliveries of
parts valued at 130 million West German marks ($77.9 million). Siemens said
the agreement calls for the building of production facilities in Iraq and
training of the local labor force. Local production is to begin in 1991.
