32.0. "VAX to BS2000 via TCP/IP ???" by NBOSWS::HANNUSCH (Netw. & Communic. SWAS Nuernberg) Mon Jul 24 1989 11:43

Is there a possibility to connect a VAX to a Siemens BS2000 system via
TCP/IP and ethernet (i.e. using VMS/ULTRIX Connection) ??? Our customer
works with BS2000, VAX/VMS and HP9000 and wants to use FTP and TELNET
to communicate between these three operating systems !

If there is a chance, what are the HW and SW requirements on the Siemens
side ???

Any ideas ???

32.1VAX/VMS as gateway?ECCGY4::STROHMAIERMon Jul 24 1989 14:027

    Alfred Weigel has been using a VAX/VMS as gateway for an ultrix machine
    to go to BS2000 using FTSIE - I don't know if this would be any help
    for you.

32.2BS2000 has TCP-IPHADRES::DITEOSI ...just seven steps to heaven...Mon Jul 31 1989 14:419
    The latest information that I have is that Siemens supports TCP-IP
    on their BS2000 mainframes with a product called (guess what) TCP-IP.

    The latest version available is V2.0A. Unfortunately I don't have any
    TCP-IP application details that they support. I will try to get these
    in the future.

    regards
