For a large french SIEMENS customer site I'm looking for terminal
Emulation from VT's to a BS2000 host.
Competition seems to include mainly HP and SIEMENS itself.
SIEMENS offers instead of old style 8171 controller/8755 terminal set,
a new system: a MX/UNIX machine accepting Asynch terminals. This
machine provides 8750 term. emulation and may be linked to the host
via a comm's processor using BAM over serail lines or Ethernet (TCP-IP
or ISO).
H.P. seems to have a similar offer: a HP-UX risc machine running
a 8750 emulation software coming from Germany and linked apparently
the same way to the SIEMENS host.
could someone tell me more on any of those ?
By the way, as we now have a basis to talk to a SIEMENS host over
Ethernet (using VOTS) for file transfer (FTSIE), are some plans going
on to develop terminal emulation over those same layers ?

I only can answer the last question - no, there are no plans as
of today to provide a terminal emulation based on OSI - but Integrata
is working on one - but we only talk 9750-terminal emulation.

Yes, the product is market ready from INTEGRATA, they even sent
me details and price information.
Basic idea is to run bulk transfer (=FTSIE) and terminal (=MEPSIE)
as an overlay to VOTS on ether.
I ca provide details if required.
