145.0. "Problem with INSWAP in V5.2 ?" by GVPROD::ZAGURY (Alain Zagury@GEO - 821/4401) Wed Mar 16 1994 05:55
Hello,
I have a problem with the INSWAP parameter on V5.2
In the configuration file, INSWAP is set to false but in the log file,
it seems that the parameter is not correctly set.
...
%ZAP-I-LENIENT, Tracebacked processes will use most lenient rule
%ZAP-I-NODEBUG, Monitor debugging is disabled
%ZAP-I-WARNTIMES, Warning messages will be sent 9 7 5 3 1 minutes
%ZAP-I-INSWAP, Swapped out processes will be inswapped <------
%ZAP-I-NOIGNSUSP, Suspended processes will be processed
%ZAP-I-GROUPDW, Related DECwindows processes will be grouped together
...
Thanks in advance for your help,
Alain.

145.1 | Values are swapped | ZAPDEV::MACONI | The Doctor is In | Fri Mar 18 1994 18:34 | 11 |
| Hi,
I found that the configuration file is read correctly, but then the
monitor "negates" the setting.
Setting INSWAP to TRUE or YES will disable it. All other values will
enable it.
This will be corrected in the next version.

145.2 | Please simplify | SOLVIT::ROHNERT | | Sat Mar 19 1994 22:45 | 6 |
| Hi Doctor,
I'm having problems with negatives here.
If I install ZAP 5.2, what do I do to make it work right?
Thanks

| Hi,
If you are using V5.2, here is how to set the INSWAP value in the
configuration file to obtain what you want.
o If you want to swap processes into memory to allow ZAP to scan them,
then you need to set INSWAP to FALSE.
o If you want to leave swapped processes alone, then you need to set
INSWAP to TRUE.
* Remember that this is the REVERSE of what it should be due to the bug
that I mentioned.
I hope that this clarifies it.
