Has anyone any experience with automatic bias calibration cassette machines? Do the systems work....or are they all a bit of smoke and mirrors? Tim

I have a Sony TF-FX1010, it calibrates bias and eq for each tape you record on. It records test tones, listens to the result on the 3rd head, and from that uses some algorithm to work out appropriate bias and eq. I take it for granted, it makes superb recordings, although I don't use it much these days. Richard |
