You've not shortlisted any Audioquest cables which I use throughout my system. (apart from the cassette which is connected with IXOS 104) Audioquest are American and although I prefer to buy European whenever I can I find them to be very well made, good value and they give a good detailed sound which is what I suppose you're looking for with a valve amp so it doesn't sound dull. Their range goes like this, Jade 30 pounds Turquoise 40 Topaz 55 Ruby 80 Quartz 110 After Quartz the prices start getting silly until you get up to Diamond which costs about 300 pounds for a half metre pair ! Custom Cable aren't the cheapest outlet by the way. Try Tru-Fi 01276 686414
541.2 | It is really that simple - with a friendly dealer. | THESUN::HOGGAND | Tue Aug 27 1996 14:12 | 10
Hi, If possible, try and find a good dealer who will let you borrow as many of the short-listed cables (as well as others) for a weekend. Sit down and try each pair - if you hear a difference fine, if not then there's nothing to worry about. Dave
541.3 | audition Chord Company and Audio Note cables. | VYGER::HANCOCKM | Fri Nov 15 1996 10:58 | 3
You could try Chord Siren or Audio Note's silver wire interconnects both are well suited to valve amps. Avoid Audioquest cables as they sound dull when matched with a good valve amp. |
