Hi, I am currently thinking of upgrading my speakers,my budget is �600-�1000 my present amp is a Quad 606. On top of my list is the Ruark Talisman II ,has any one had any experience on these speakers or suggest alternatives. Thanks in advance Paul

To go with the QUAD amp.... If you have the space a pair of original QUAD ESL, you probably could get them second hand for approx �300. When they stopped manufacturing `82, these retailed for �600 approx And if you have a lot of space a stacked pair is supposed to be quite something, and still within budget ! Simon | |||||

Bl**dy awfull in a word.
The ESLs are pretty good on clasical music but just don't cut it with
rock. They are about the size of a radiator (3' wide * 2' high *
3" deep) and need to be placed a good distance from a wall.

The new ruark range is tonaly bland try and find a dealer that sells
Musical Technology Harriers or ProAc Response Ones.
