Hi, I have been a great fan of Meridien speakers. I thought they pioneered the Active Speaker systems (M2, M3, M10..). Meridiens had great imagery and efficiency for their size. I have seen no notings on Meridien speakers at all in the conference. I have been away from the hi-fi scene for lot of years now, as regards Meridien, and would appreciate if someone could give me a update on whatever happened to them, are they still there?, what models (after M10s), and what new concepts did they try in their stuff. I remember M10s having drivers in their sides also. Any feedback from users of Meridien speakers also would be greatly appreciated. Regards Anil

Meridian still make active speakers. Their latest ones are fed with a digital signal, and all the filtering is in the digital domain. The early digital models were more of design statement than a seriously marketable product, and the reviews reflected this, e.g. good but a long way to go to better a traditional configuration. The latest models have had some good reviews in the UK and US, though I've never heard them. Dave |
