My first encounter with Mini Disc was today.
Q magazine have an offer where an actual mini disc is
taped to the front cover, and you can take it to a Sony
Dealer, hear the music, and then hear whether or not you
have won a Mini Disc player.
I went to Sinclair Youngs in Basingstoke, and they didn't
have a demo machine. They had the real machines that they
didn't want to use. I had a quick look at the real machines,
and they looked very nice, and very much high end, which is
a bit odd for a mass market product.
It remains to be seen whether they will succeed.
