OK you old QUAD ESL owners! Gradient(the companythat bought you subwooofers for theESL63) are releasing the same for the old ESLs next month! Looks pretty spiffy too. No idea on price but expect it to be 2/3 of the present model. I was visiting the company earlier this year and I raved to the inventor that his should be his next step to get through the recession because his present ones would only be bought for so long.............now he has done it............we reckoned there were 54,000 ESLs out here just waiting to 'come into' the nineties!! Buy up an old 303 boys and put that ZZ Top cd on!!!!!!! cheers fjeff

I always thought the way to get bass out for the old ESL's was to stack them. I knew someone in Ireland who had a stack 3 high, then there's always the SME listening room. | |||||

I saw the Gradient subs at the Penta show but unfortunatley could'nt stay to listen to them . They looked nice but if I recall the cost was high (#1000 ?). Better to move house to somewhere with a 30'x20' living room :-). I think that lifting the QUADS also lets the bass out, opn some form of stands. Arcici (sp ?) advertise some special stands just for the ESL. jives ( who'd-love-a-pair) |
