375.0. "Cartridge help- Lyra, Koetsu or ? please" by UFHIS::JMASLEN (The wheels fallen off your day yet?!) Wed Oct 07 1992 15:08
Gidday again folks!
Have any of you
a] heard the Lyra range of cartridges, particularly the 'cheapest' one
(it's called the Lura I think...some thing like that)
b] heard the Koestu Red cartridge
c] have any cartridge recommendations for my Michell Gyrodek
The present setup is the Michell with Helius Orion (Silverwired) which will
soon loose its Dynavector 17DII to go back on the Oracle Delphi. The
sound at present is dry and almost clinical and quartet jazz music is
the mainstay musicwise.
What I am looking for is a cartridge (around the 300-500 pound mark)
that will deliver the crispness and detail of the Dynavector 17DII but
with a warmer and fuller bass to midrange. This is to balance the dry
sounding Michell.
Many thanks Gentlemen
cheers fjeff
