I noticed that the Reading Tandy has Minimus 7 speakers for 29.95 each
which is 10 off the normal price (25% off), as part of the summer
sale.
This puts a pair at 60.00 :-)
I know that Tandy has zero HiFi cred but . . .
If you delve into our companion AUDIO notes conference there is a very
interesting note about this speaker, with entries from many of the
states side high enders.
the story goes that for the money they can't be beat, and when you
start to modify them they really start to sing.

It is true that the Tandy can't be beat for the price. However, after
awhile you will want something better, a "real" speaker. Maybe it is
better to spend another 40 pounds and get something that you can live
with longer, e.g., Goodmans Maxim 2, JPW Sonata, etc.
I owned a pair of Tandys (Called in North America Radio Shack), so I
speak from first-hand experience.
