    Check out the new MAPLIN catalogue, there are quite a few Hi-Fi
    goodies.
    
    I got a copy yesterday and have thumbed through it, the following
    hilights caught my eye :-
    
    Cables : Some fairly interesting Speaker and Interconnect cables. The
    speaker stuff looks like monster to me (1000+ strands of OFC). The
    interconnect stuff is also OFC CO-AX and only 65p/m
    
    Connectors : They are selling those really chunky/expensive looking
    phone plugs , the ones ideal for co-ax, for only 1.65 each
    
    Caps: Some interesting 160v polyprop caps up to 4.7uf, quite a hi value
    for a bulk supplier, normally MAPLIN/RS only go up to 1uf with pp's
    
    Velleman Kits: These are new to me but pridde of place goes to a Class
    A valve Amp kit for 499.00 ! Styling rather like Audio Innovations
    (Manhattan Skyline). Complement looks like 8 EL34's from the
    illustration.
    
    Power supplies. They now do a ready made/kit power supply for their
    MOSFET amp module which looks quite good.
    
    time to get the soldering Iron out again
