Sorry about the confusion - I'm new to notes as you may have guessed.
I've been using PAVN which is supposed to make notes easier to use and
indeed it does help - however, writing a note from this site
continuously retrys in batch-mode and yet succeeds when carried out
immediately. This odd state of affairs meant that notes 260, 261 and
262 were essentially the same since sometimes batches would succeed
BUT also keep retrying! Never mind, reply -1 should now refer to note
262. After trying to explain that I feed like a right idiot..
Well, thanks for the Marantz CD50SE advice but in the local hi-fi shop
I saw the CD50 player, what does SE mean and is it `the default'?
Regards, Hugh.

The SE stands for Special Edition, which basically means that some of the
important components are replaced with better quality ones so as to make it
sound better. I have never done a comparison between a 50 and 50SE, but can
say that my dad's CD50SE does sound quite nice.
I still reckon that mine sounds better, but maybe the test was unreasonable,
or maybe I am just biased due to the fact that I have to justify the money I
spent on it !!!!!

The SE stands for "Special Edition" and is basically a CD50 with higher
quality components.
