237.0. "Record Sale" by CRATE::WATSON (Back to mono) Mon Dec 03 1990 08:39

    Cheap records.

Yes I knew it made sense to keep the old LP-12 ...

My local newsagent / corner shop (Martin Mc Call (sp?) / Fleet High St.)
also seconds as a record shop (Top 30 stuff only - you won't find that
rare Jap. import of ``Dark side of the moon'' here) and they are having
a record sale - ANY record NOT in the top 30 is 2.99.

I picked up 10 or so record (Decan Blue - Raintown, Phil Colins - But
Seriously, Roxett (sp?), Tikkita Tik. (sp?) [Why didn't I learn to
spell!]...) all for less that the price of 2 CD's
All the records are 1989-90 vintage.

I suspect this offer applies to all their shops.

PS I picked up a ``Rock of America'' album to make a tape for the car.
Previously, with the Ittok-Karam, these albums have sounded fairly naff
BUT with the Lingo-Ekos-Troika they sound great ! Has anyone else
    noticed this ?

Is that Centre News next to Gateway or one up the Oatsheaf end, near Racal?

Steve
(pondering whether he can get to Fleet and back in a lunch break)

It's the one near to the Abbey National.

It's on the RHS (When comming from Station -> Oatsheaf) before the
Abbey (and Civic Center) Opposite the Hart Center (Not sure which
entrance) [Also close to Oddbin's I think]

They have a small (poor) collection of records ``in-the-door'' and a
much better collection at the back of the shop (RHS).
