98.0. "CD again" by SHIRE::GOLDBLATT () Wed Jun 21 1989 14:34
I'd like to buy a CD player, but I don't want to spend any more
than the minimum. I've got a new Yamaha integrated amp, 80wpc,
and Bose AM-5 speakers.
From what I've seen in the various notefiles, a Phillips or Sony
would do very well. I don't, by any means, have golden ears, but
on the other hand, I don't want to obtain a CD player not up to
the Yamaha and Bose's capabilities. I'm also not interested in
all the bells and whistles that the expensive players have eg.
programming and remote control.
Any reason why I should not choose a top-of-line Phillips or Sony
compared to, say, a Denon, Yamaha, Nakamichi (sp), etc. ?
All opinions are welcome.
