83.2Hi, again.HGSW02::CHAKLEEThu May 11 1989 08:077

Hi Parry, you again. I think this is the right place. What you asking
for are British made int. amp. Right? Can you tell us why choosing
British made equipment? Actually, in terms of sound quality, they are
    BEST BUY.

    Chak.

It's interesting to see so many British Amplifiers in your list.
Of all the ones mentioned, I have heard the Arcam Alpha (Which I
am seriously thinking of getting myself), and the Cambridge P40
    (which I also liked)

Presumably, you are interested in what extra you get with the Arcam
Delta over the Arcam Alpha? I heard the old version of the Mission
Cyrus 1 a few years ago, and I hated it! I think the new version
is meant to be much better now.

Have you heard the ONIX OA21, NAIM NAIT or Inca Tech Claymore ?

    Cheers.

    Mark.

P.S. Out of interest, what have you got in the rest of your system?

    REF .2 & .3

I intend to upgrade my old system which consists of a SNASUI G6700 receiver,
AR25 speaker, Sony FX44 cassette deck and Thorem T150 turntable
with Shure M75 cartridge, about 8 years old.

I read a few HI-FI magazines, with my budget, I shop around and
get these list. I only listen these set at differnt store and I
am not good in determine which is the best choice.

I read the DENON technical data, PM920 is OPTICAL Class A Integrated
amp which the power amplifer BIAS is control by signal level. Anyone
    know about it ?

I also intend to upgrade the speaker, tonearm and a CD player later.
Any suggestion ? How is the NEW KEF and MISSION range of speaker
    ?

    Thanks/Parry

Reading contributions from someone in Singapore reminds me of my
mis-spent youth - by the pool at Seletar instead of swatting for
    exams; happy days.

Enough of these diversions. From what I remeber you must be spoilt
for choice there (much like Hong Kong for Chak). Out of the amps
you list that I've heard, the Arcam Alpha sounded the best; the
tuner that goes with it sounds good too, but is analog.

Personally I wouldn't consider anything that claims to change the
    bias with the signal.

    Just an opinion.
