63.0. "What's your ideal ?" by KLO::LOGAN (DECkchair Attendant ) Wed Dec 14 1988 18:55

    This is reserved for your ideal system. Money no object, what would
    you buy ?

    "Money no object, what would you buy ?"

    Er, more records, plus an extension to my house to store them:-)

    As a Linn/Naim fan, there are things I plan to budget for, like
    a Troika and two NAP135 monoblocks. If money were no object, I'd
    just buy them now. Apart from that, maybe a DAT machine would be
    nice, but frivolous!

If money was no object, I'd audition the Linn, Exposure and Naim
active amplifier systems and pick the best (bound to be the Linn
anyway ;^) ). I'd get a Troika cartridge and a pair of Isobariks.
Total additional cost about 4500 (assuming the Linn amps).

Also on my wish list is a bigger house, decent hifi furniture,
more more more records, and an extra few hours in every day to listen
to it all so I don't feel so tired in the morning after going to bed
so late because I can't stop listening to music.

Also a yacht, a villa in the south of France, a helicopter, a Gucci
shoe-tree, a fool-proof plan and an air-tight alibi, a solid gold
Kama Sutra coffee pot, a contented lifestyle... But that's another story.

Steve.

    Money no object -- how about the Albert Hall, RPO, Abbado and sundry
    soloists and choirs! :=;

re .-2 I forgot, since money is no object, I'd like a brass-coloured
Michel Gyrodeck to sit on my mantelpiece and look pretty. (Not excessively
expensive as a record deck, but an expensive ornament!).

re .-1 Calling Mr Dave 'Student5', is that your real name?? :-)
