849.0. "Charlies Mushrooms at the Mean Fiddler" by COMICS::WOOD (Shooby-dooby-doowop) Tue Mar 14 1995 18:50

Charlie's Mushrooms at the Mean Fiddler
=======================================

Date : Thursday 16th March
Time : 7pm
Place : New Inn, Sarum Hill
Cost : #3 for Coach, #3 for ticket

Paul Dennis has asked me to let everyone know that this Acid Jazz Groove
thang is happenin' man init and it's extremely cool an' that, which
loosely translated means that a Coach leaves the New Inn on Sarum Hill in
town at 7pm, the cost is #3 for the coach and #3 for a ticket.

The general feeling from the last performance was that it was the best
night everybody had had since the CSC Barbeque last year. I've been there
and I know !

So come on, it could be your last chance to see this 'combo' before they
get really famous.

Please let either myself or Paul (tel: 332467) know as soon as possible
if you will be coming.

Thanks

Richard Wood (x3808)

Charlie's Mushrooms are playing at The Royal Oak on Worting Road this
    evening (Friday).

The support band is Swank DeLuxe, a band from Texas who play The Blues
    really well (says Paul).

Charlie's Mushrooms are playing at a place call "The Bottom Line" in
Shephard's Bush. It might be near Wood Lane, or it might be on Wood
Lane, you never know. Anyway it'll be well cool and happenin'.

No coach this time. You've got to make your own way there.

They're also playing at the Coutances Jazz Festival
From this weekend (20th) for a week or so....

For the uninitiated Coutances is about 40 miles south of
Cherbourg.

Also...... Paul Dennis is doing another of his
Piano_Man Nights up the New Inn on Sarum Hill
this Wednesday (17th) .....

Not to mention that Bash (if anyone out there
knows them :-) are playing in Winchester on the
20th (for those missing Coutances).

If you don't want to travel on the 1st June then the
Anvil's having another Foyer Rock night... something or
other bicycles and SAD are playing... (ok so I shouldn't be
putting this isn the charlies mushrooms note... )

All this and more in the Basingstoke HOme Page - Gig listing
... just as soon as I get to grips with a html editor.

Cozy's is what used to be Premier's which used to be the Davis Snooker
    Club...
which is in the Brighton Hill shopping precinct opposite Robert Greig,
    (which used to be Sainsbury's).

Another Charlies Mushrooms update.

Two gig dates and a news splash.

Paul Dennis and Charlies Mushrooms have gone their separate ways.

They have another new member as well though - they now actually
have a dedicated guitarist, he's called Dave, apparently he fits
in well, and I'm assured he's a tall good looking Frenchman :-)

St Alfreds College - Winchester - tonight 5th June

The New Inn - Sarum Hill - Basingstoke - tomorrow 6th June

Also Swank Deluxe, the bluesy dudes from Dallas, Texas are back over again -
playing the new inn on the 18th june and the 28th.
