818.0. "I'm leaving again" by VESSA::WATTERSON (Everton 2-0 Red pooh ) Wed Nov 30 1994 15:46

As much as it breaks my heart to admit it, I shall be leaving
Basingstoke on Friday to return permanently back to civilisation.

I would like to say how wonderful the last three months have been down
here..... I would like to, but it's not in my nature to lie.

Anyway, it's been nice coming back to digital after getting the boot
this time last year and it's been great to catch-up with all the
    old faces down here.

Goodbye and good luck to everyone.

Well Paul, I can thank my lucky stars that I will have the
pleasure of giving you a damn good kick in tonight at Brighton
Hill before you go back to where you came from. If only more
northerners would take your approach and admit to
themselves that they just aren't welcome in the south.

Moderators,

Shouldn't this "string" be in topic 800??

Good luck twinkletoes, I'm sure you're sad to be leaving the

If you think the moderator cares about any of that pedantic "keep the
notes on topic & I'll delete all those that don't accord with my view of what
should be in this conference" then you are way off track.

In fact I realise that I am now the sole moderator since Mark Jeffery
departed for greener pastures. Anyone want to volunteer to be a name the Net
Police can hold responsible for the contents of this file?

Presumbably a sense of humour is not a prerequisite for this odious task.

     Watty,

Is this a quiz? Do we guess the missing words in the above sentence?
Are you the new Matthew Kelly??

     Calm down,

Oh bloody hell - one small mistake !!

Have you ever tried to type something with Kevin (I'll leave you
homeless and destitute in Newbury) Rave-on whining in your ear ?

Hi Paul,

Shame to see you playing footy so badly on your last game. After
all these years I'd have thought you'd have learnt that kicking
everything as hard as you possibly can with no sense of direction
isn't the answer.

Better luck next time eh?

    Ian,

by 'I'd have thought you'd have learnt that kicking everything as hard
as you possibly can with no sense of direction' do you mean talent, skill
and lots of brilliant goals ?

Did you realise the object of football is to try and put the round
thing (ball) between the metal things (goal posts)

I'm not leaving again, but I am leaving. There's not much about Digital
I'm going to miss, but I will miss this notesfile. Thanks to everyone for
all the invaluable information you have provided me with. Basingstoke
really is a wonderful place to live and work. I shall miss it immensely.

Why have you put this as a reply to "I'm leaving again"? I'd have 'em, but I
was going to go to Martine's. I'm not now, so I'll probably have cocoa in
front of the fire.

A very good point Ian and one that deserves a considered response.
