| I am afraid Frank is too busy establishing his new career. However his
wife, Anne, has her first starring role and yours truly has a part; if
that doesn;t put you off! Frank will be shifting scenary for us during
the show run.

| Isn't this known as type-casting? We won't be able to hear him talking
on stage, he usually wears black anyway and he's experienced in
throwing things around ;-)
By the way, the singer in that "well known" Basingstoke band is in the
chorus line aswell, you can't miss him, he probably is the chorus line
and he'll be the one that can't sing the harmonies.

Point of order, if you're amateurs, then surely entrance should be
free ?

| amateur status, in photography certainly, normally is defined as not your
main job, or not providing more than 10% of your income, so they could
even be using the ticket price to pay the actors so long as it wasn't too
much.

804.8 | The costs aren't amateur! | REPAIR::SHERGOLD | A new head on the block! | Wed Oct 19 1994 13:53 | 18 |
| Thanks for the defence, Jo. However, the cast are all amateurs but the
Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and Assistant Director are
all semi-professional. Add their fees to the costume costs, scenary
costs, hire of the theatre, hire of props, rehearsal venue hire,
licence to perform the show and you will see that it is easy to see why
this show is costing in access of 15,000 pounds to put on. Where do
suggest we recover the cost?? In fact if we do not get in access of 80%
BOS (That's "Bums on seats" for the un-intiated) then we will make a
loss.
Now you wouldn't want to see Frank, myself and all those other poor
people end up in penuary so nip along to the theatre and get your
tickets now.
Keith
P.S. Just who is this man from a famous Basingstoke band? Go on, give me
a better clue.

I cannot believe wot I wrote - "in access" - ho, ho, ho! Please
read "in excess".
Re .10
If you mean the man with the large girth and answers to Ray then I now
know who you mean. He doesn't actually do a lot of singing. He's there
to fulfill a character role (Hey! I didn't say roll.) and make up the
numbers. You should see him dance!!
Keith
P.S. Re .5 I guess you stand guilty of not seeing our production of
OKLAHOMA!

| May I suggest a cake stall in the foyer? Get all the wimmen
to make cakes and sell them, wrapped tightly in cling film,
to the OAPs to drink with their cup of tea during the
interval.
Don't mention it

Couldn't you do a bit of fund raising and get other well known bands
like U2 to play, I'd hapily come along and help you raise money
then. Also, couldn't you do something more popular, like
Singin' In The Rain, I always liked that one, or maybe Tommy.

I don't think OAP's are the most lucrative market for wimmin wrapped
tightly in cling film. I also think they'd be difficult to drink.
David L.
PS Does gettting the wimmin to make cakes before you wrap them in cling
film make them more attractive to you ? In fact your note is so
full of fantasy I think you need to see a doctor.
