739.0. "Interesting Cricket positions" by COMICS::WOOD (Pathos and satire 'is' me) Thu Mar 31 1994 13:29

This is an educational note to try and cultivate a bit of interest
in the game, 'cos I think it gets a bad press.

Fine Leg (in fact, two fine legs if I do say so myself).
A position I found myself in regularly last season. As positions go
this is probably the most mind-numbingly tedious one, unless someone
kindly buys you a pint.

What about SILLY MID-ON (or is it OFF?) for a position!..

I find that position amazing where the cricket sits in
the grass on a warm summer's evening and rubs it's legs
together to get that whistling effect. Incredible! Have
you tried that one Rich? Maybe David Attenborough would be
interested (or is that Richard?).

What relevance does this have to Basingstoke then Rich.?
I guess it's because both the "sport" and the town are
incredibly boring.

For those that don't know, the previous reply was nostalgic look at
what Richard's finger was capable of before it was smashed to pieces by
    Cricket and the NHS.
