710.0. "Basingstoke -> Heathrow Coach Service?" by KERNEL::LOTA () Fri Dec 03 1993 11:21

    Hi,

    Is there a coach service from Basingstoke to Heathrow Airport?

    How often is this daily?

    Thanks,

Jas,
   Yes, there is coach that leaves from Basingstoke Bus station. I think the
frequency is very couple of hours but I do not have a timetable with me. If I
can find a timetable I will bring it next week otherwise they can be obtained
from the Bus Station.

710.3Coaches not as regularKERNEL::ROSEMon Feb 07 1994 23:0313

    The coach to Heathrow used to be every couple of hours - it called in
    on route to Victoria coach station - now it's reduced to about 5 a day
    though that might be improved in the summer.

    It's probably best to get the rail-air link from Basingstoke via
    Reading or Woking. The coaches between Reading and Heathrow are every
    30 minutes during the day, the ones between Woking and Heathrow are
    every hour.

    I have some timetables of the Railair link from Reading to Heathrow,
    which is by far the better service.

    If you want it then please mail me.

    They also give details of the National Express routes

    I rang up recently to ask about coaches to Heathrow. Unfortunately I
    forgot to ask whether these times are for what terminal and what
    terminals are visted, but it should give you the idea.

    The journey time is about an hour, but allow a good hour due to
    roadworks at the moment (M25 M3?)

710.6Best to get a confirmed reservationKERNEL::ROSEMon Mar 21 1994 20:0418

    Ref .5

    The coach service to Heathrow usually calls at Heathrow Central Coach
    Station and then goes to Terminal 4.

    The timetable seems a lot better than it was last year, at one point
    they got down to only one from Heathrow in the morning and three in the
    afternoon, now it seems they're every couple of hours.

    The only thing I found was that when I've tried catching the coach from
    Basingstoke around lunchtime it gets BUSY and they ended up only taking
    passengers with 'confirmed reservations' (which you pay a bit extra for
    when you book).

    Hope this helps.

    Trevor
