658.0. "Notes for selling?" by FLEX7::GIBSON_K () Tue Jul 06 1993 02:26

Just one question, having logged into Basingstoke Notes, why is
the notes file being used to sell goods? This is hardly conducive
to having some constructive exchange of views etc. However, if this is
the norm I have a Ford Fiesta 1.1 Pop Plus 1984 for sale 950.
    Call Keith on 781 1657 or 0831614528.

    Keith.

True, and anyway there are better places to advertise things, like the
Reading conference or VTX.

I moved to Basingstoke from oop north (Doncaster) & discovered that
there were few if any launderettes. I always used the launderette when I lived
in Yorkshire & there were plenty of them about. I assumed that the affluent
south had no need for them.

I was actually given an old washing by a work colleague & it's still
going strong after 9 years although you do need to prop the door shut to stop
it leaking while in use, still if I'm saving 300 who cares.

There used to be a launderette in the housing estate not far from the
newbury road roundabout. Isn't that patch called Worting?

It was next to some shops, and was open on sundays, as I once found out when
    my machine broke.

    Huw.

There are laundettes in the Winklebury shopping precinct (the one up
at the top of the estate ... not the main precinct)and in the popley
precinct.

There's also one in the middle of fleet (don't ask how I know this)
