Does anyone out there have any information about when the new look ring-road will
be open? The road surface is now complete (in all the places I've been) as are
the barriers, road markings, and cats-eyes.

Is there going to be a grand opening? Are they going to get a celeb to declare
the road open? 8-]

    Spoke to one of the workmen at lunchtime, whilst queu-ing to go North
    on the A33, he said *Thursday*, but no mention of an official opening
    ceremony!

It's all open now. It seemed to make a bit of a difference to the traffic this
morning. The real test will be after the Easter holiday when everyone's back
on the road.

Not quite. The bit on the A339 from Kingsclere is still
one lane where you approach the ring road. The other lane
will open when the footbridge is complete.
