612.0. "Fancy a Cosworth for the day???" by KERNEL::LEYLANDS (Sharon Leyland) Wed Jan 13 1993 12:19

I want to go to France for the day to do some booze shopping. Trouble
is that I need a large vehicle to put it in as there will be four
    people plus whatever we buy.

Does anyone living or working in the Basingstoke area, have a COMPANY
Renault Espace, Toyota Spacecruiser or something similar I could borrow
in exchange for either a Sierra Cosworth or an Escort Cabriolet for the
day (would be midweek). This would be towards the middle or the end of
February (a bit premature but I don't want to leave it till the last
    minute).

Any offers, please call me on 7833 3521

    Thanks
    Sharon Leyland

I know you probably have, but check the maximum load these can carry -
	it's weight not volume.

Customs have said they will come down very heavily on transport that is
carrying too much weight - so will the police, as its very dangerous.

Sharon, check out #1759 in CARS_UK. Theres a guy there who volunteering
his Espace for short term swaps. I mailed him about this sometime ago,
but he wasn't interested in my Fiesta Turbo.

Let us know how you get on.

Yes, I had already tried that one and got the same story - otherwise
    that would have been perfick!!

I saw a dark blue one in the carpark here today (Viables) does anyone
    know who that belongs to??

    	That's Gerry Cole's - it seems a blue Espace is a pre-requisite
    	for the job!

If you have no luck with the real biggies, is a Volvo estate any good?

    Re: 8

Volvo Estates/any estates are not really any good as you can only stack
them as high as the windows and if four people are going...well need I
say more. Thanks for the offer anyway.

I have (yesterday) received a call from a Renault Espace owner (name
with-held to protect the innocent) who is willing to swap so I will
    take his kind offer.
