575.0. "Launderette ?" by SEDOAS::CUNNEA_L (BDF - Bloody Difficult Female) Fri Jul 03 1992 12:19

    Does anyone know of a launderette in Basingstoke ?

    Recommendation of the cost/effectiveness of the dryers would
    also be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Lesley

    If I remeber rightly, (and if it's still there, its been 18 months
    since I left Basingstoke) there's one in Winklebury.

    If you go from town centre west towards the newbury roundabout and take
    the left slip road. you sort of go through an industrial estate, and
    then over a small roundabout and then towards some houses. I think it
    might be 1st left after that into Elmwood way. go down there for a few
    hundred yards, and you'll come to some shops with a Launderette.

    It was the only one I found in Basingstoke open on Sundays, when my
    machine was broken. I think the dryers used to take 50 notes for 5
    mins :-) ( I think it was 20p, but you never know, the south is SO
    expensive!)

    Huw.
