Martin My father, although not an accountant, worked in the Tax section of Lloyds Bank for donkies years, is now retired (early) and is doing people's Tax returns privately. I don't know what his workload is at the moment. He actually lives in Southampton if that's not too far away. Let me know if you want me to have a word with him. Dave

I too have need of some serious Tax accountancy and am looking for someone in the Newbury/Basingstoke/Reading area. I think that perhaps Southampton is a wee bit too far (I can see the expenses being charged mounting already!). Specifically, I am looking for someone to take on the burden of both personal tax and a couple of small business ventures that will probably be in my wife's name. The goal is to maximise the chances of recovering all legally recoverable costs and exploit as many loop-holes as possible. Does anybody have any recommendations for someone based in the area that I have mentioned. I'll cross post this is ::NEWBURY.

Dick, I (as you know) am a contractor and for the last 4 (or is it 5) years have quite happily run all my business with the aid of an accountant in Hassocks who I've never met! The point is, really, that the quality of the accountant is a great deal more important than the location. Mark |
