| Yes, all -800- numbers are banned from extensions at the CSC,
I had this same problem yesterday and got the switchboard to
get me the outside line.
DECdirect don't advertise their DTNs, but I found out yesterday
they are:
DECdirect Sales: -830-8400
DECdirect Technical Info: -830-8460

Why screen out all 800 numbers? The only ones that actually cost the
company money are DECdirect's ones. This seems like encouraging
people to use costing lines when they can use free ones?

| Les,
I think the filter is more generic, and applies to more 08** numbers.
I believe it's to stop you phoning up 0800 numbers at 48p/Min for
advice on your petunias, Top gear's car lines, and other such
services.....!

| I thought all 0800 numbers were free.
Its only the 0898 numbers that are chargeable.
