535.1 | Train would be much cheaper | JANUS::BARKER | Jeremy Barker - T&N/CBN Diag. Eng. - Reading, UK | Mon Mar 09 1992 16:50 | 9 |
| It would be cheaper to travel by train from Basingstoke to Reading -
the return fare is 3.40. You could even get taxis from Viables to
the station and be cheaper then the prices you were quoted. It's less
than 10 minutes walk from Reading station to the Hexagon.
It may be possible to get a group travel discount on the train - 25% off.
If some of your group have a Network Card it would be even cheaper - 34% off.

| that's a good idea!!
I didn't think of that, although someone in the group has offered to
drive a minibus if i hire it.
Thanks, it's worth thinking about, and certainly cheaper, but will we
be safe wearing our underwear on the train????????

| Ring Martins garage at the Hatch (on the A30). They do the cheapest
deals on minibuses. Can't remember the phone number...sorry.
Paul (who drove the mighty Viables footie team to Holland and back in a
12 seater minibus...)
