Er, where's Pamber Place?? Isn't it Aldermaston/Mortimer way?

If so, then M4 to Reading and then local roads. When is this journey. I
could sort out more details later ths week if required.

I think you're referring to the Pamber Place Hotel in Pamber End???
Digital has used the hotel in the past for conference facilities.

Directions you need to follow are:

M3 to Basingstoke then take the road to Tadley/Aldermaston (can't think
what the road number is). Go along this road past Basingstoke
Hospital, past Gales Garage at the top of the hill on the right, down the
other side of the hill and round a sharp bend. Carry on until you get
to the Queens College Arms Pub/Hotel on your left and take the first
left after it. Go down this road until you reach a T'Junction and turn
right. The Pamber Place Hotel is on your left. The only way you'll
know you've found it is because it has a brick wall around it with a
wooden gate at the bottom of a path - the place looks quite quaint,
it's just like an old house. It's not easy to spot so be careful you
    don't go past!

This is assuming you mean the Pamber Place Hotel - if not then forget
    the garbage above 8-)

Thanks to all of you. I will drive forewards, even though I'm not very
used to driving on the "wrong" side of the road !

I guess Pamber End is the place, since Pamber Place is the location of
a Digital course I'll be on in November.

Any good pubs in the vicinity ? What's the local pint(s) ?

No, it's MS-DOS running on a VAXmate.

Could someone give me directions to Andover Leisure Centre ?

I'll be travelling there on Saturday from Basingstoke.

    Thanks

480.10Sports Centre this WayNEWOA::SCORE_RNihil Illegitimi CarborundumThu Dec 10 1992 10:1022

On the assumption that 'Leisure Centre' is synonymous with 'Sports
Centre', then the building you need is in West Chantry Street, close to
    the Bus Station.

    Hit the A303.

Take the *second* exit for Andover (A3057, exit also marked
    Stockbridge).

Half a mile down the A3057, take the first exit off the Roundabout into
    Western Ave.

At the next Roundabout, turn right (Still in Western Ave.)

West Chantry Street should be the third turning on the right.

    Good luck.

    R.

M25 and down the M3..... to Junction 6 (Basingstoke turn).

Right at Rndbt towards Basingstoke (its the only way to go anyway!).

    Left at Rndbt.

Left at Rndbt. (Probably sign posted to Alton and the A339).

Right at Rndbt. (If you don't take this one, then you will pass under
the M3 in about 200 yds).

Skippets Lane is on the left, in two parts. You do NOT want the first
part. Skippetts House is the building on the left, just past the
    barriers.

(If you miss Skippetts Lane, then you will come to a roundabout 100 yds
further on (with the Golden Lion on the corner).
Turn left here, and the first building you will come to is The Crescent).

    Hope it helps

Skippetts House is situated near to the Basingstoke junction of the M3. I think
it is junction 6.

When you come off the motorway you will get to the first roundabout. Head
towards Basingstoke. At the next roundabout turn left. Next roundabout turn
left. Right on the next roundabout. You will see the posthouse, Texaco garage
etc. Skippetts entrance is a turning on the left hand side of the road before
the next garage.

Hope this helps

    One other question... :-)

What's the morning traffic like? I'm aiming to arrive @ around
8:40 am, so should I allow much extra time for getting from the M3 to
    parking?
