Yes...I have tried Fishers, but all they can do is send it off
somewhere; either to the manufacturer or to a repairer that they deal
with. (The same applies to the Link shop in the town centre also.)

The staff in Link were helpful in that they even managed to give me an
estimate for the work (a complete overhaul 59 + any extra parts on
top..), so bearing this in mind I just might not bother! (The camera
cost about 120 10 years ago!!)

I was hoping to find someone to deal with directly, thereby cutting all
    the middle men out.

    Thanks

Harv,

I doubt you'll find anything locally in Basingstoke. A year ago I had cause
to get my camera fixed under insurance, and should have obtained two
independant quotes. This was not possible!

My experience of Fisher's is mixed. When they sent of my camera for repair,
it needed specialists parts ordered. They did not keep me informed of
progress, and it took 8/9 months before things were sorted out. They did,
however, arrange a free loan of similar camera equipment which I grew
quite fond of and didn't want to give back.
