449.0. "Flame on topics" by ODDONE::PAYNE_R () Wed Jun 12 1991 13:04
I`ve scanned through this but can`t find a relivent note anywhere. If
one does, please move this.... FLAME ON.....
Car Parking at wimgrove is crap !!!
Yes people work here all day, Yes we have visitors in- and out all day,
and YES Customer Service MOBILE Enginners are in-and out all day. I
know I`m one. I`m maybe in and out 5-6 times a day for 10mins, to 1 hr.
And what really bugs me is there is NEVER anywhere to park (SHORT
TERM). There used to be to the left of reception, but now that for
Disabled only. If you park in a bay, someone (Who usually is a all-day
person), blocks you in. If YOU double park, you`re up and down like a
yo-yo, or Facilities stick a lable on the screen to tell you "You are
double parked. You are using the Disabled bay. You are not allowed to
park here, ect. And if you leave it on the road, the Traffic wardens
have a field day. so my question is this,
Where do short term people park, and get left alone. Why don`t
permanant all day people use the basement car park next door, or at
Snams ??. When is someone going to do something to resolve this
problem. All cars using this site are logged with facilities, and a
sticker is on the car, (Not many showing though !!!). This situation
has been going on months now, i feel it`s time for someone to take the
bull by the horns and kill it.....
Flame off...

An old problem I thought resolved by alternate weeks parking at Snam!
Obviously not working - why don't you speak to Theresa Ryder - your
facilities person.

| In my experience (>7 years) Wimgrove House has _always_ been the same
apart from a brief period when all the Thames Valley people decamped to
Snamprogetti House.
It's hardly surprising is it given the size of the building & the small
number of car parking spaces.
Nigel
BTW Snamprogetti House car park gets pretty full also but I have never found
myself unable to park.
