The wine club at IBM (yes them) in Basingstoke have challenged Digital to a
Blind Wine Tasting Competition. I believe we play them at bridge and cricket
etc so this seems a good opportunity to make them see red..... and white and
ros�!
Details such as venue, date, team size, cost etc are open for discussion so
if you think you know your wines and want to take up the challenge, please
let me know and I'll start the negotiations. Please mail me direct rather than
replying to this note.

For the uninitiated, no blindfolds or guide dogs are needed, but the object is
to "guess" as many attributes of a wine as possible without seeing the label or
bottle, ie grape varieties, country and region of origin, vintage, winery
vineyard, colour of picker's socks etc!

| I've only had a couple of replies so far and we probably need a team of at
least 5 to make it worthwhile event.
The intention is to make this a fun evening not a "bet your reputation on it"
competition so don't be shy!
I'll give it another couple of weeks, say week ending 7 June, and if I have
not had a few more replies by then I'll have to tell IBM that Digital can't
accept the challenge.
