Well I saw it last night. Was watching TVS news at 10:30 when
they mentioned an office fire in Basingstoke. Went outside and
you could see if from Kempshott. I went into town and watched the
Churchill Plaza buliding burn. The fire appeared to destroy two
floors (I think the 8th & 9th) before it burned out. I don't think
there was a lot those 30 fire tenders could do.
At it's height (11pm - midnight) the windows of the floors on fire
were exploding and office furniture (burning desks, hatstands) was
coming out. Quite spectacular really. The bus depot was evacuated
to stop any debris setting the buses on fire - obviously they've
learnt a lesson from the Crescent fire. This mornings news reported
the only casualty was one fireman detained overnight in hospital.
... and I used to think this town was boring !

I think it may have been a reference to Digitals Disaster Management
Services.
But then, that's only a guess......

| I heard a rumour that the portakabins that left Viables today are on
their way to Churchill Plaza.....just a rumour!!!

| We've had Five CSE's in there, trying to rescue The Computer rooms...
Seems the Cresent Fire was still in there minds, and relised WE WERE
THE PEOPLE TO SEND IN.
