CREEP CREEP...
I'm a Customer Service Engineer, based in Wimgrove, and I'm on the
scrounge for a DECmateII/LQP02/wps,software, for a School in
Basingstoke. Now some 10+/- years ago DEC. gave (sorry Donated) a
wp200system, and some vt100's, and a wp78 and Lqp01 (Antique !!). Plus
a DECservice contract. NOW parts are now very hard to get. Swaps are
dam near impossible. Skill level is LOW. in short it's getting very,
very hard to keep the stuff going. SO IF anyones got a DECmate II or an
LQP03 stuffed in a garage/under the stairs/under the desk, and you have
no further use, (AND I.S. don't mind) Tell me, I'll collect, any time.
And make the Schools day.....

Digital recently (late 1990) made a donation to the NSPCC of a
"quantity" of DECmate III+'s and LQP45 printers, plus one day's
start-up consultancy training (yours truly).
I'm sure if you talk nicely to Public Relations @RDL that they'd look
favourably on bringing the donation up to date and maintaining our
"presence" in the school.

The short answer is NOT INTERESTED !!!
Why ??, I suspect (My own view..), that one small ex decmate III, +
LQP02/3/45, is old tech stuff, and therefore dosn't make Front page
news.... So Please, Look hard around your building/home. I'm not
looking to replace the whole ws200 syst., just one Decmate II/III, one
LQP02/3/45, and a bit off WPS s/ware.....thats all.....
Even the Budget news didn't sway them !!!
