also since it doesn't deal with VASCAR (a sort of super calculator/stopwatch)
or the newly developed laser speed measurers, it can instil a nasty sense of
over confidence...

| It is perfectly legal to own one of these devices. It is of dubious legality
to use it and it is definitely illegal to act on any information it gives you.

"I'm *awfully* sorry, Officer. I wanted to slow down once I'd spotted your
radar, but I knew it was illegal to do so."
Don't think this would be considered mitigating circumstances!

381.5 | There is a way... | HEWIE::RUSSELL | Middle-aged Mutant Hero Turtle (UK option) | Fri Dec 14 1990 16:10 | 14 |
| it goes along the lines of :
Unless you have a special license, you can only "listen" to certain
transmissions..
You can't get a license to listen to police Radar guns;
therefore you must switch off (or re-tune) the recieving apparatus, if
you recieve these transmissions.
Now, it would be unsafe to do this while you are driving, so I'd
strongly recommend slowing down before fiddling with the controls.
